Milly – Brand Exploratory

Milly (one of my favourite designers) asked Jennifer Cast, Art Director and I to explore the brand. Milly’s Creative Brief called for an exploration of their Madison Avenue store, the new Milly Minis line,  the upcoming collection and the overall Brand Identity. Milly challenged us to determine how their current Brand direction could translate into Promotional Campaigns.

Here are some highlights of our Milly presentation:

Entertainment Tonight – Awards Season

Javier Aguilera directed a spot for Entertainment Tonight Canada, which celebrates the ET Hosts toasting Awards Season on Global TV.

Global TV Creative Agency commisioned me to create Mood Boards for tone and fashion direction. I worked with Stylist, Jessica Albano to create looks for the 7 ET Hosts and approximately 30 party-goers.

Here are some highlights:

W Network – The Bachelor Image spot

I directed The Bachelor Image spot for W Network.

The Brief asked that we show the Bachelor, Chris Leroux “getting ready to step out for the night” and to feature pops of red (a nod to iconic rose) on a neutral, graphic background.

Here are my Mood Boards that I made to inspire Stylist, Joelle Litt and Production Designer, Suzanne Campos:

Bois Cheri Tea- Brand Identity

Mark Twain wrote ‘Mauritius was made first and then heaven; and heaven was copied after Mauritius.’

Bois Cheri is the beloved local tea from Mauritius, an idyllic island in the Indian Ocean. The New York Times, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and Conde Nast Traveller have all recommended visiting this famous Tea Plantation. Travel + Leisure wrote ‘Take home a case of Bois Cheri Vanilla or Coconut tea.’

Bois Cheri invited me to tour the Plantation and factory. It was so inspiring to learn about the island’s history and Bois Cheri’s fascinating business. The Creative Brief called for a Brand Identity re-design in order to promote Bois Cheri as a premium tea in North America.

Here are some highlight of my visit + research phase:

The Dodo is a bird that was endemic to Mauritius.  It is an icon in Mauritian culture, featured on money and postage stamps. Our new design direction experimented with celebrating this now-extinct tropical creature.

Kevin C.W. Wong did this Dodo illustration:

YTV – Brand Image Campaign

I directed an Image Campaign for YTV.

The Brief asked to feature YTV live-action stars in the same environment as the network’s beloved animated characters. YTV wanted a white, graphic space that could showcase various animation styles seamlessly interacting with live-action.

I made these Mood Boards and Fashion Direction Boards to inspire Production Designer, Mike Conte and Stylist, Corey Ng.

Look is Pop-a-licious, minimal, mylar shine and Jeff Koons.

Fashion is relatable, but kid aspirational…shades of denim and neutrals with touches of colour + quirk.
